“I feel like this one session has been more help than months of therapy.”
Do you and your spouse or partner argue over every little thing?
Is it like you’re both trying to get your point across but are just really talking past each other?
Are resentments starting to build up because it seems like things never get resolved?
If we let this stuff go and don’t address it, our relationships deteriorate and we become chronically unhappy and maybe, eventually, break up.
Before you get that far down, there are actions you can take to try to improve things.
Couples Mediation is action and outcome oriented
Couples Mediation is not talk therapy. We don’t go deep into your childhood or other relationships. We don’t meet regularly for 50 minutes for months.
We do:
Discuss what the problems and challenges are
Set goals for your relationship with the intention of staying together
Develop specific actions that each person and you as a couple will take to make things better
Set benchmarks so you both can measure if it’s working
Do this in a set number of sessions
Couples counseling and relationship therapy are wonderful tools and can really help. In fact, you may want to engage in individual counseling also. But, if you’re looking for something short-term that gets straight to changing behaviors and actions at home, Couples Mediation just might be the thing. Click here to schedule a consultation so we can see if it’s a fit.
